TAG Heuer Gents Automatic 300 SLR Carrera

Most of us can’t stretch to the upper reaches of the Swiss haute horology brands where watches in excess of £200,000 are common. But that doesn’t mean to say you can’t buy a decent mechanical watch for considerably less. That’s the purpose of our Mid-priced mechanicals series; to show you what’s out there from some of the most desirable Swiss brands at the more sensibly priced end of their collections.

As you will see, there is still plenty of quality and imagination to be had starting at just a little over £2,000 to a maximum of just under £4,000. One unswervingly popular brand with a superb range of mid-priced mechanicals is TAG Heuer.

Ever since Steve McQueen donned the stylish TAG Heuer Monaco, petrol heads simply can’t get enough of this legendary brand, which has undoubtedly excelled at creating a series of well designed and well regarded motoring inspired watches – especially under the expert guidance of Jack Heuer and Jean-Christophe Babin. However, TAG Heuer also produce excellent diver’s which are within reach of the  average salaried watch collector.
