Independent watch maker and Click Tempus favourites, Linde Werdelin, have unveiled a couple of new additions to its hugely impressive SpidoLite II collection. In addition to the use of exciting and eye catching colours, the new SpidoLite II Tech watches are now manufactured from a selection of new materials, inspired by the same weight reduction technology normally found in F1 racing cars.

Nearly two years in the making, Linde Werdelin has built on the now trademark multi-layered case that features on the SpidoLite II, only this time they have used carbon on the outer case and a super light alloy, known as ALW (Alloy Linde Werdelin), on the inner case, which is used to protect the movement.

The end result is that the Spidolite II Tech is now even stronger and more than 50% lighter than its predecessor, the SpidoLite II.

The new Spidolite II Tech is available in two versions, green or gold, each limited to just 75 pieces.  The gold version features an 18kt rose gold bezel and crown, complete with a microbille and satin finish. Another new detail of the SpidoLite Tech series is that each what features a serial number engraved into the side of the case.

The watch is driven by a custom made LW04 calibre 2251 Concepto movement, which is visible through the dial and sapphire crystal case back. The movement has also been engraved with the LW Spido icon.

Both watches are then finished with a calf strap, with the Tech Green featuring matching green stitching which is particularly eye catching. The Tech Gold strap includes red stitching.

The SpidoLite II Tech Green has a list price ex VAT of 13000 CHF (approx £9150), with the Tech Gold priced at 17,500 (approx £12,320). Both of these new versions are due to be officially launched at Baselworld 2013.

As mentioned, we’re big on Linde Werdelin and have previously featured a number of their watches on Click Tempus, including the Oktopus II Double Date and the SpidoLite II Red.
