We have mentioned in an earlier blog that Hublot is rapidly becoming the Swiss watch to watch.

They have recently launched the Hublot King Power F1 and Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Bivet was present at the Singapore Grand Prix this past weekend to launch a new Hublot Boutique in the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort. Asia’s leading specialist watch retailer The Hour Glass officially opened the doors of the Hublot flagship store in Singapore on Friday.

For the King Power F1, Hublot has skillfully crafted the bezel out of zirconium and ceramic designed to resemble a high tech break assembly. The unique strap consists of super-comfortable rubber on the inside and a special Nomex outer layer, which as Formula 1 fans will know, is the material being used extensively in the racing suits of Formula One drivers. The unique multi-layered dial is treated in black nickel with black SuperLuminova and the hands are micro-blasted and rhodium plated.

The distinctive chronograph pushers have taken a design lead from the array of buttons and functions on a modern day Formula One steering wheel. Finally the striking black, red and silver colour scheme of the watch gives it a powerfully sporty, fuel injected feel.

This stunning new watch will be in a limited edition of 500 and was launched in the Shanghai World Financial Centre by Jean-Claude Bivet.

Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of the Formula One group had this to say about Hublot

“I have long had a keen interest in watches and the art of watch making and I am very pleased to be announcing this deal today. Hublot’s meteoric rise in the industry has been a very well managed achievement and I would like to congratulate Jean-Claude for this. There is an energy, creativity and dedication to perfection about Hublot which sits very well with us and I could not think of a better brand with which to begin a new chapter in Formula One’s enduring association with luxury watches”.
