This year’s Only Watch charity auction, to be held at the Hermitage Hotel in Monaco on September 23rd in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, promises to be truly spectacular.

Our favourite limited edition watch from the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show was the Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver we featured.

Stunning one of a kind watches from a veritable who’s who of the world’s finest watch manufactures are up for auction including this very unique Glashutte Original Senator Chronometer.

For its part, Glashütte Original has created a superb one off Senator Chronometer for Only Watch 2011. The 18k red gold case is perfectly sized at 42mm. The watch features panorama date, day/night indication, and a stop-seconds feature with innovative minute detent.

The Senator Chronometer is powered by a 58-jewel certified chronometer movement visible through a sapphire case back.

The dial is in matte black and silver with radial Roman numerals, an outer minute track for precise time display, and a power-reserve display below 12. The “1/1″ unique piece status appears on the dial next to the date. The crown is set with a black cabochon and the hands are in red gold.

The watch case bears a special Only Watch engraved inscription, and the watch is accompanied by a unique wood case created as a tribute to marine chronometer housings of the past, and a special certificate.

The wish price for this unique (very) limited edition watch is somewhere between $45,000 – $70,000.

The Only Watch 2011 charity auction coincides with the Monaco Yacht Show when all the high rollers are in town. Forty of the world’s leading luxury wristwatch manufacturers are participating and 100% of the proceeds are donated to to the cause. The auction will be conducted by Antiquorum who have also overseen many watch auctions including the Rare Patek Philippe which was sold to a Chinese bidder.

If you can’t make it to the auction and wish to place an absentee bid on the GO Senator or any of the other watches up for auction, visit the Only Watch website and place your bid.
