OMEGA Planet Ocean Skyfall Limited Edition

When Skyfall is released in November 2012, it will be the 23rd film in the 007 series, and the third outing for Daniel Craig as James Bond. To celebrate a movie that very nearly never made it into production, OMEGA has launched a new special edition of the Seamaster. Skyfall represents the second limited edition Seamaster Planet Ocean (and the first to be released in a 42 mm size) for a James Bond movie.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M, the Skyfall edition has a 42mm stainless steel case with a matte black ceramic rotating bezel, matching dial and chromium nitride diving scale. Water resistant to 600 metres, the matte black dial features applied indexes, which are coated with white Super-Luminova emitting blue light. The hour and seconds hands also emit blue light in the dark, and the minute hand emits green light, along with the dot on the diving bezel. The famous 007 logo is at 7 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock. The watch is powered by an OMEGA co-axial calibre 8507 movement.

Along with OMEGA’s Co-Axial escapement technology developed by the late George Daniels, the watch is equipped with an “Si14″ silicon balance spring. The combination is so stable and reliable that the Planet Ocean comes with a full four-year warranty.

The release of Skyfall marks the second limited edition Seamaster Professional for the 50th anniversary of James Bond. Earlier in the year there was a limited edition of 11,007 pieces. The Seamaster planet Ocean 600M Skyfall wristwatch will be produced in a limited edition of 5,007 pieces, and comes in a special presentation box.

Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall Limited Edition is powered by OMEGA’s exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. The rotor is engraved with Skyfall 007, and the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal on the caseback.

OMEGA has been James Bond’s watch since 1995, when Pierce Brosnan wore the Omega Seamaster Quartz professional in the movie GoldenEye.

If you are looking for exotic locations in Skyfall, you may have to content yourself with locales such as Bognor Regis, budget cuts necessitated less international jet setting.
